CinemaCon 2025 was nothing short of spectacular, and Wicked fans had plenty to celebrate. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo took the stage in Las Vegas to tease exclusive new footage from Wicked: For Good, the highly anticipated sequel to last year’s blockbuster hit.
A Victory Lap for the Wicked Team
After Wicked received critical and box office success, the sequel, Wicked: For Good, is set to complete the Broadway adaptation of the beloved musical. Erivo reprises her role as Elphaba, the misunderstood green-skinned witch, while Grande returns as Glinda, the bubbly future Good Witch.
Director Jon M. Chu acknowledged the journey:
“This is the third year that ‘Wicked’ has closed Universal’s CinemaCon presentation. Thank God it worked out.”
New Footage & Emotional Moments
Fans have been eagerly waiting for the next chapter, and the stars didn’t disappoint. While teasing the new footage, Grande joked about their tear-filled press tour, saying:
“We already have our tissues packed.”
Erivo responded with a laugh, promising fewer waterworks this time around.
Universal Pictures’ Blockbuster Slate
Universal pulled out all the stops at CinemaCon, showcasing some of its biggest 2025 releases, including:

- M3GAN 2.0 – Featuring another creepy dance number (June release)
- Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 – Teased by Jason Blum in full Freddy Fazbear costume (December release)
When Will ‘Wicked: For Good’ Be Released?
Fans don’t have to wait much longer! Wicked: For Good is set to hit theaters in November 2025. As anticipation builds, fans can expect more sneak peeks and surprises leading up to its release.
