In a rare public statement, Chief Justice John Roberts rebuked Donald Trump over his call for the impeachment of District Judge James Boasberg. The move has further heightened the long-standing tensions between the former president and the judiciary.

Trump’s Call for Impeachment

Following Judge Boasberg’s order to suspend deportation flights of Venezuelan migrants, Trump took to Truth Social to label the judge a “Radical Left Lunatic” and called for his impeachment.

“For more than two centuries, it has been established that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision,” said Roberts.
