SAG Awards 2025

A fiery political moment was delivered by Jane Fonda at the 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards. The event was hosted by Kristen Bell on Sunday. It was streamed live on Netflix from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The ceremony was introduced as a tribute to actors’ dreams and the city itself.

The Life Achievement Award was given to Fonda, 87. A strong political protest was voiced by her during the acceptance. President Donald Trump’s administration was addressed indirectly by the famed activist. “We are in our documentary moment,” Fonda declared. “This is it. And it’s not a rehearsal.”

“Woke just means you give a damn about other people,” she added. A warning was issued by Fonda about tough times ahead. “A whole lot of people are going to be hurt by what’s happening,” she said. “We are going to need a big tent to resist what’s coming at us.”

The SAG Awards were impacted by January wildfires. An in-person nominations event was canceled due to the devastation. A disaster relief fund was launched for affected SAG-AFTRA members. Firefighters present were called “the most attractive tables” by Bell.
