Duke vs Arizona

Duke vs Arizona: Cooper Flagg Shines as Duke Beats Arizona 100-93 in Sweet 16. Flagg’s record performance—which included 30 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 blocks—solidified his status as a tournament highlight.

Flagg’s Record-Breaking Night

Flagg became the first Duke player to notch a 30-5-5 stat line in an NCAA tournament game since assists were tracked in 1984. His balanced performance also placed him alongside UCLA’s Ed O’Bannon (1994) as only the second player to achieve 30 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 blocks in tournament history.

“That was one of the best tournament performances I’ve ever coached or been a part of,” Duke head coach Jon Scheyer remarked.

A Second-Half Surge Confirms the Win

Duke established a crucial lead and led by six points at the half after a close first half. Arizona was unable to overcome the advantage after a rapid 14-5 run out of halftime increased it to 15 points.

Despite Caleb Love’s stellar 35-point effort for Arizona, Duke’s efficient shooting — 60% from the field, 58% from three, and 85% from the free-throw line — proved too much for the Wildcats.

Looking Ahead

Duke vs Arizona: Duke Advances to Elite 8 to Face Alabama on Saturday. As Flagg continues to elevate his game, all eyes will be on the young phenom to see if he can lead the Blue Devils further.
